Nikos Papaioannou

Nikos Papaioannou is a Professor of Pathological Anatomy of the School of Veterinary Medicine of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is, today, the Director of the Laboratory of Pathological Anatomy of the School of Veterinary Medicine and the elected President of the School of Veterinary Medicine of AUTh. He was/is a member of many special Committees of the School of Veterinary Medicine of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has served as part of his postdoctoral studies, as a visiting professor at the universities of Utrecht (Netherlands) and Madison (USA). Additionally, he has visited and worked, as a researcher, in specialized foreign laboratories (Zurich, London) on neuropathology issues. Alongside his academic career, he has taken important positions in national and international Organizations (ESYD,Hellenic NARIC, WVA). He has supervised/is supervising four doctoral theses as a supervising professor, while, as a member of the three-member advisory Committee, he has participated/is participating in fifteen other doctoral theses. He has published more than one hundred and twenty (120) original scientific Papers, in prestigious scientific, Greek and international Journals.He participates, as a Scientific Coordinator or a Member of a Scientific Group, in Scientific Research Programs in Greece and abroad. He is, today, the President of the Greek Veterinary Society, the oldest and largest scientific Association of Greek Veterinarians.
